Extract the most important sentences from long text using frequency and position-based scoring. Runs entirely in your browser โ€” nothing is sent to a server.

โ„น๏ธ Honest Note: This tool performs extractive summarization โ€” it selects and shortens the most important sentences from your text. It does not generate new sentences (no AI rewriting).

How the Algorithm Works

  • Word Frequency: Each word's frequency in the text is calculated. Common stop words (like "the", "and", "เค•เคพ", "เค•เฅ‡") are ignored.
  • Sentence Scoring: Each sentence gets a score based on the frequency of its words.
  • Position Bonus: The first and last sentences of the text get a small bonus, as they often contain key information.
  • Length Adjustment: Sentences that are too short (less than 5 words) or too long (over 40 words) get a small penalty.
  • Selection: Top-scoring sentences are selected based on your chosen length, and re-ordered to match original text order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an AI summarizer?

No. This is an extractive summarizer that uses a classical algorithm (word frequency + position scoring). It does not use AI models. It selects the most important existing sentences from your text โ€” it does not generate new sentences.

Does it work with Hindi text?

Yes. The tokenizer is Unicode-aware and handles Hindi and English. Hindi stop words like "เค•เคพ", "เค•เฅ‡", "เค•เฅ€", "เคนเฅˆ", "เค”เคฐ" are also filtered.

Why is my summary in a strange order?

After selecting the top-scoring sentences, we re-order them to match their original position in the text. This keeps the summary natural and readable.

How long should my input be?

For best results, use at least 5-6 sentences. Very short texts (1-2 sentences) will return almost the same text as the summary because there isn't much to compress.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Your text is never sent to any server or stored.
